The seven days TC will provide training on Child Rights Programming. Through a non-formal, intercultural and creative learning process, it will equip participants with knowledge and practical tools to undertake a child rights situation analysis and design community-based projects through child rights-based approach, analytical steps and logical framework planning. As first participants will analyse rights violations for this target group, the root causes and obstacles preventing the fulfilment of children’s rights. Than participants will be engaged working together by co-planning and designing projects that responds to children community’s needs.
Through the training youth workers will also have the opportunity to develop the quality of their work by sharing experiences, getting new contents to exchange in their local contexts and building occasions for future projects.
The general objective of the training is to strengthen and support coherent approaches to unaccompanied migrant children in the frame of youth work and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation.
The specific objective is to foster capacity of youth workers to guarantee rights and protection of unaccompanied migrant children in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
CHILD RIGHTS BASED APPROACH
The project proposes a child rights based approach to youth work related to child protection and development. The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) contains all the civil, political, economic, social and cultural human rights of children. The UN CRC emphasises that children are holders of rights and their rights cover all aspects of their lives. It applies to all human beings under the age of 18. States that have ratified the UN CRC are legally bound by it. Child rights programming involves the practical application of the UN CRC to bring about real changes in the lives of all children.

In this frame participants will learn:
– about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child;
– how to undertake a “child right based analysis”;
– how to co-plan & design community-based projects through child rights-based approach, analytical steps & logical framework planning;
– about youth work and cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region.

Participants profile
– Participants who work/volunteer with vulnerable young people and children in community activities – through NGOs, not for profit organizations and associations, schools, self helps groups, national, regional and local bodies, private sectors, public bodies;
– Interested to the project themes (child rights programming, youth work and cooperation);
– willing to act as multiplier in their local communities upon their return home;
– No age limits.
– Able to communicate in English.
